Irene graduated with Bachelor’s degree in Library and Information Science from Polytechnic University of the Philippines. She currently holds the position of Senior Librarian at Stenden Qatar University of Applied Sciences.
Her duties include overseeing the daily operation of the library, performing administrative and professional work in planning, organizing, and disseminating information, implementing policy and supporting learning. In addition, Irene coordinates with the Stenden Qatar University of Applied Sciences academic staff in developing and selecting library resources. In this role she acquires, classifies, and catalogs library materials.
Irene also deals with library users and provides assistance with literature searches and other queries. She manages and allocates the length of loans and updates the library collection using the library management software in order to provide aids to literacy in printed and digital format.
