a) An official copy or the original of your high school certificate

To enter the Bachelor’s Programme from a high school you must have completed Year 12 with a minimum 70% average grade. Entry with 60% may be possible following advice from the admissions office. The Accepted HS Certificates are, CBSE, IGCSE minimum grade C, IB, GCSE, BTech – Level 3 extended diploma (equivalent 3 AS level), GCE O level. For non-Qatar high schools your secondary school certificate (High School, IB or Baccalaureate) must be validated for University study by the Ministry of Education and Higher Education in Qatar. Associate Degrees, College Diplomas, other BA and MA Degrees might also qualify as entrance into our Bachelor programmes; please contact the University’s administration for more information.

b) A certified English waiver letter or the original TOEFL or IELTS Academic Language Exam

Year 1: IELTS 5.0 (Overall Band Score) with 4.5 each for the individual skills (Reading, Writing, Listening, Speaking)
Year 2: IELTS 5.5 (Overall Band Score) with 5.0 each for the individual skills (Reading, Writing, Listening, Speaking)

TOEFL 487 – 566 (paper based), 163-226 (computer-based) and 57 – 86 (internet based).

A certified English waiver letter: a High School certified letter confirming that the student has been studying with English as the medium of Education for (at least) the last three consecutive years.

c) Application for accreditation of prior learning (if applicable)

Students who have already had significant prior education at university or college level may get accreditation of prior learning. Also extensive work experience in the field of your chosen study might give you accreditation of prior (work) experience.

d) Entrance Interview

After processing your written application and meeting the overall requirements you will be given a date for a University entrance interview. The result of this interview will determine if you will enter our Bachelor’s Programme at ARIU with UoD. After the entrance interview, you will receive an offer of entry.

The BSc (Hons) International Business Management undergraduate programme at the University of Derby is a specialist degree programme designed to develop deep knowledge of markets, business and organisations in an international context. It also develops knowledge and capabilities in applied economic analysis alongside enhancing personal and employment skills appropriate for a career in international business or management.

Events such as the global financial crisis of 2008-09 and developments such as Brexit and the COVID-19 global pandemic have led to a wider and growing interest in the subject area of international business, management, logistics, finance and applied economics. They have highlighted the importance of understanding real-world economic and business problems in a holistic manner and of being able to assess their impact within organisations and present coherent solutions and strategies. We offer you a programme designed to help you make robust disciplinary links between theoretical frameworks and the practicalities of the global world, and become successful in complex and dynamic environment.

Our programme focuses on international business from all its major aspects, expanding the disciplinary focus of a degree for students in pursuit of a career in global business. A thorough knowledge of the economic, financial, legal and cultural factors facing international business is crucial for students aspiring to work for global organisations. The programme adopts a specialist multidisciplinary approach to the complexity of the international business practice and analysis.

The programme will provide academic rigour, choice and flexibility, and continued personal development. It has an academically challenging curriculum designed to reflect the range of contexts in which international businesses operate and will allow students to adapt to the changing pattern of employment opportunities. Our assessments are designed to ensure that you can identify issues, decide how to collect and analyse evidence, derive reasoned conclusions based on that evidence, and present your findings via various methods of communication. We use a range of assessment methods; some are individual tasks while others are group tasks. These may include:
