Mrs Chaaya is a Senior Lecturer who is currently involved in the First Year Programme at Al Rayyan International University College (ARIU) in partnership with Univeristy of Derby, where her main focus is concentrating on developing students’ study skills, having them develop into reflective professionals and world citizens. She guides and mentors students throughout their univeristy jounrey. Mrs Chaaya started lecturing in Qatar as an English lecturer since 2011 across the Businness, Hosiptality and Tourism programmes for several years. Then her interests shifted towards student development, academic skills and student support.

Mrs Chaaya has been in the education field for over fifteen years and has experienced the academic life of students at different levels which she finds truly inspiring. She moved from different institutions and implemented different curricula, and beleives this is what makes a person learn and grow at the same time. Her main area of interest is creating and enhancing life long learners through differentiated learning. Prior to moving to Qatar, Mrs Chaaya was teaching in Lebanon and UAE at American institutions for six years at various teaching levels.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor Degree:  BA in Education from the Lebanese American University, Lebanon.
  • Master Degree: MA in Management and Leadership of institutions from the Lebanese American University, Lebanon.
  • CELTA (Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) Cambridge English.
