Mrs. Chaaya is a Senior Lecturer who is currently involved in the First Year Programme at Al Rayyan International University College (ARIU) in partnership with University of Derby. Her main focus is concentrating on developing students’ study skills, having them develop into reflective professionals and world citizens. She guides and mentors students throughout their university journey. Mrs. Chaaya started lecturing in Qatar as an English lecturer since 2011 across the Business, Hospitality and Tourism programmes for several years. Then her interests shifted towards student development, academic skills, and student support. In addition, Mrs. Chaaya conducts ongoing professional and corporate training courses such as: Communication Skills for ‘Masraf Al Rayan’ and Interpersonal & Behavioral Skills for ‘Concierge Training Course’ in collaboration with Qatar Tourism and Les Clefs d’Or Qatar representatives.

Mrs. Chaaya has been in the education field for over fifteen years and has experienced the academic life of students at different levels which she finds truly inspiring. She moved across different institutions and implemented different curricula, and believes this is what makes a person learn and grow at the same time. Her main area of interest is creating and enhancing lifelong learners through differentiated learning. Prior to moving to Qatar, Mrs. Chaaya was teaching in Lebanon and UAE at American institutions for six years at various teaching levels.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor Degree:  BA in Education from the Lebanese American University, Lebanon.
  • Master Degree: MA in Management and Leadership of institutions from the Lebanese American University, Lebanon.
  • CELTA (Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) Cambridge English.
