Students Activities Al Rayyan International University College (ARIU) has a friendly and open environment where students not only study and learn but also spend time together and organize activities, leisure and sports, have fun and relax, creating a network of close friends and future business associates. In time, Al Rayyan International University College (ARIU) students have created a vibrant community that every year enhances the educational experience through various academic, social and recreational events. Al Rayyan International University College (ARIU) campus boasts of a Students Union, founded in 2007, whose mission and vision are: To participate to establish students activities. To strengthen the bonds amongst students and Staff. To activate the concept of teamwork. To represent the students’ views on university life or on local and national issues. Our students also show both their interest and sensitivity by organizing special events that have a national and international focus, such as, Health Days, giving staff and students the opportunity to be updated with various information referring to their health, food safety, nutrition, first aid techniques, etc and Charity Days supporting those in need. Al Rayyan International University College (ARIU) Students volunteer in many on and off-the campus activities and events like: Open Days, Orientation Days for the new students, Graduation Ceremonies, Exhibitions and Education Fairs (Ta’allem, Diyafa, Qatar Career Fair.) Supporting the staff in organizing and developing these activities, the students have the opportunity to express themselves freely, to share their ideas, to talk about their challenges and experiences, about the obstacles they encounter and the ways to succeed and proceed. Students also need to exercise and keep in shape so SPORT is also on their agenda. The sports events generally involve internal competitions in volleyball, table tennis, basketball and of course, football and the teams include both staff and students. Our basketball and football teams are champions in their respective codes and again emphasizes the importance we place on educating the whole person, mind, body and spirit! Our students are also very active in events and activities that are Academic team events. For two years running Al Rayyan International University College (ARIU) are the champions on the International Case Competition competing against teams from Canada, UAE and Qatar, the motivation and drive for success has been evident due to the fact that the 2009 competition saw the two teams from Al Rayyan International University College (ARIU), Team Alpha and Team Delta, compete against each other in the final.
